Claws
Betrayed I stand out on the deck
Pinned upon by psycho's net
Trust and love I offered free
But now I stand here like a tree
There are no words, no curse too deep
To carry all the hate I keep
My back, it arches, my tail raised
He will not escape this night unscathed
My flesh, gives way with each hard tug
But still I stand beside the rug
The door it opens, he comes to me
Expecting to pet my head, it seems
He crouches low, I hold my place
Until I'm even with his face
And then I leap, my claws spread wide
Releasing all the pain inside
I claw, I bite, I rake, I rage
Then bolt out out underneath the sage
I hear him scream, and curse my name
I know he'll never look the same
Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth
Justice served, and that's the truth.
